This ongoing issue is undoubtedly disheartening. Regrettably, when contacting Snagit support for assistance, their recommended solution of disabling HDR proves ineffective, as it compromises the screen's visual quality, negating the purpose of having HDR in the first place. Despite the bug's prolonged existence, there seems to be no visible progress toward a resolution. Numerous users have reported this bug to TechSmith, as evidenced by the following support thread. This particular issue arises when capturing screens with HDR-enabled displays, resulting in washed-out and overly bright snapshots that inaccurately represent the content displayed on HDR screens. However, it's disheartening to note that there has been an unresolved bug persisting in Snagit for the past three years, rendering it virtually unusable for many individuals. Undoubtedly, Snagit has significantly enhanced my communication with others. Furthermore, Snagit's intuitive editing capabilities facilitate quick modifications to the screenshots. One of its standout features is the ability to effortlessly capture partial screen screenshots and videos, enabling focused documentation. I rely on it extensively throughout my day for various purposes. Snagit is an exceptional screenshot and video recording app for Windows, offering immense utility and versatility. It's worse than planned obsolescence and ruins an otherwise good product.īest screenshot & video app, but they don't fix 3 years old bug and Snagit is now non usable Camtasia, whether intentional or not, I hope you will fix this. Although not as screenshare-focused and a bit more advanced it's a fantastic editing suite and the standard version is 100% free. I also use Davinci Resolve Studio (paid one) extensively and have not experienced this when updates are released. By the way, I always upgrade (don't want to learn a whole new suite in this class) BUT this adds hours of frustration to completing the final projects I have on the old version (can't risk losing them during an upgrade). If you just make the new one better, loyal customers will upgrade AND recommend you. Techsmith you would get 5 stars if you didn't do this. 2 - After the new release, my once perfectly-working Camtasia becomes riddled with problems - absolutely no system changes have occured. At this point I assume this is planned because: 1 - This happens every single year on the drop of the new version. Every year AS SOON as their new (requiring payment) version is released, the version you're on becomes absolutely unplayable. I actually love it when it works BUT THERES ONE REAL THORN IN THE SIDE. I have used Techsmith's Camtasia for many years. Remember to destroy the current version so they have to upgrade
